Handicapping is the number one reason why clubs join associations. Without handicapping you are unable to compete on a level playing field. It is also a way to measure your ability with others. When used properly, it works!
There is only one handicap system that all associations follow to establish a Handicap Index in the United States. The USGA Handicap System formulas and policies have been developed by the USGA over the years. The USGA authorizes both clubs and association’s licenses to use this system and formulas in the calculations of Handicap Index.
As a USGA licensed association we have the ability to offer Handicap Index to your members. The IGA is here to facilitate that process with little effort to the clubs.
For the past forty years clubs in Southern California have been receiving handicaps and Handicap Index through their respective associations using Integrated Data Company (IDC). The decision was made by the other associations in southern California to switch to another handicap vendor. The IGA was established to not only provide many services to our member clubs but to provide an option for those clubs that have relied on the proven Handicap System they have been using over the years. Another large part to the handicap system is the support provided to your clubs. You could have the best system in the world and if the support structure is not in place then you have a wonderful system that doesn’t work. The IGA is extremely excited to retain the services of Lori Atchley of IDC to provide the support needed for your handicap needs.
The IGA provides your clubs an alternative system. We will continue to expand and offer other handicap solutions allowing clubs choices best suited for their needs.

What to ask regarding your handicap system:
1. Does the system display all players full file of 20 scores at your club? 2. Will the system show an unofficial trend handicap? 3. Will your club have any lag time when seeing information? 4. Does your vendor have more than one database that needs to sync? 5. Does your club have the ability to maintain and see it instantly anywhere? 6. Does your handicap system require you to program your updates to your vendor? 7. Does your system require push pull programming technology? 8. Is your handicap system a real time system? 9. Does your handicap system provide you the ability to reinstate players with their existing member’s number and file instantly?
